HeatFrost: Wie beeinflussen wärmere Winter die Frosthärte zukünftiger Baumarten?

Sind potenziell zukunftsfähige Arten, die hitze- und trockentolerant sind, auch genug frosttolerant? Wir untersuchen, wie sich wärmere Winter auf die Frosthärte verschiedener, aktuell als zukunftsfähig eingestufter Baumarten auswirken.

The projected increase in the frequency of forest fires due to climate change underlines the need for long-term studies on tree regeneration and succession after forest fires. These data serve as a basis for adaptive management and intervention plans.

MastWeb 2.0: Mobile friendliness and interactive analysis tool to assess and visualize annual tree fecundity levels

New and improved functionality for the mastweb.ch platform to collect, distribute, visualise and evaluate data on tree fecundity levels in Swiss forests.

Polytunnel Greenhouse Experiment

Das Projekt untersucht, wie gut zukunftsfähige Baumarten während der Verjüngungsphase in einem Klima mit wärmeren Wintern und heiss-trockenen Sommermonaten wachsen, wie sie sich gegenseitig beeinflussen und welche Auswirkungen ihre Präsenz auf den Boden und die darin lebenden Organismen hat.

Trockenheit als limitierender Faktor für An- und Aufwuchs von Hauptbaumarten

Für die Anpassung unserer Wälder an ein wärmeres Klima sind verschiedene Strategien denkbar. In diesem Projekt wird die Plastizität verschiedener Provenienzen von Waldföhre und Fichte bezüglich Trockenheit in der Jugendphase untersucht.

Vivre avec les incendies de forêt

Avec comme référence l’incendie de forêt de Loèche, été 2003, le plus grand sinistre de ce type en Valais de ces cent dernières années, nous montrons la variété des conséquences sur la nature d’événements à ce point destructeurs. À la lumière du changement climatique annoncé, le risque d’incendie pour l’avenir est débattu, et des exemples en vue d’actions préventives sont proposés.

Leben mit Waldbrand

Das Beispiel des Waldbrands von Leuk im Sommer 2003 zeigt die vielfältigen Auswirkungen solch zerstörerischer Ereignisse auf die Natur. Mit Blick auf den Klimawandel wird das Brandrisiko in Zukunft diskutiert, und es werden Beispiele für präventives Handeln gegeben.
