
Diversité génétique et génétique de la conservation

La capacité des différentes espèces animales et végétales à bien s’adapter à leur environnement dépend de leur diversité génétique. Nous étudions les processus écologiques dans les populations de champignons, de plantes et d’animaux à l’aide de méthodes de génétique moléculaire et de recherches expérimentales.
Comment les plantes alpines s’adaptent-elles aux conditions environnementales changeantes? De quelle façon les routes influencent-elles l'expansion et l’interconnexion des populations? Comment la consanguinité affecte-t-elle les espèces rares? Les méthodes d’analyse génétique peuvent apporter des réponses à ces questions. À l’aide de ces méthodes et d’expériences, par exemple en serre, nous étudions les processus écologiques dans les populations végétales et animales, et déterminons les espèces à l’aide de leur ADN (ADNe). Lors de nos expériences, nous nous concentrons sur des espèces qui jouent un rôle écosystémique essentiel ou sont rares ou en danger. Nos résultats constituent des bases essentielles pour la planification et la mise en œuvre de mesures de protection de la nature et des espèces, mais également pour la sylviculture.
