The WSL-Eawag Biodiversity Center is pleased to announce an interactive workshop on consumer decisions, organized by the Beyond Borders project, exploring how everyday food choices are connected to carbon emissions, agricultural production practices, and biodiversity outcomes.
The WSL research project Beyond Borders invites members of the public to participate in an interactive workshop about everyday consumer decisions.
Participants will take part in different individual and group activities involving familiar food products. An important part of the workshop will be a moderated small group discussion, where participants can exchange perspectives and reflect on the factors they consider when making purchasing decisions.
The workshop is part of a scientific research project. Information will be collected through questionnaires and activities conducted during the session. Anonymised results will be presented live during the workshop to support and stimulate the group discussion.
No previous knowledge is required, and there are no right or wrong answers. Detailed information about the workshop procedure and data collection will be provided at the beginning of the session. The workshop lasts approximately two hours and will be followed by an informal apéro.
Who can participate? ¶
The workshop is open to people who:
- are at least 30 years old;
- have lived in Switzerland for at least one year;
- consume chocolate, coffee, and olive oil;
- understand German; and
- feel comfortable using a smartphone or tablet.
How to join ¶
Four workshops will take place between 29 September and 2 October 2026 at WSL in Birmensdorf. Please choose just one of them.
Participation is free of charge. Registration is required, and places are limited.
Accepted participants will receive further practical information before the workshop.
