Groundwater controls on mountain headwater stream dynamics

Abstract ¶
In this presentation, Prof. Roques will summarise some recent research that his group has conducted on the interactions between groundwater and surface water in mountain catchments. He will explore how mountain landscape geomorphology and geology control different hydrological responses to changes in recharge regimes, while also providing solutions for accurately representing these controls in catchment-scale hydrological models. He will also present the perspectives of the Valposchiavo cryo-hydrological observatory in Switzerland and the European Waterwise Interreg project.
