I am a Environmental Engineer and Atmosphere and Climate Scientist, now trying to figure out what drives water temperature in rivers.
I am both interested in small scale changes in a single mountain catchment (the Dischmá) close to Davos, which I will be observing closely over the next three years. I will try to understand and quantify the impacts that different aspects of a catchment have on water temperature here.
Further I am a fan of big data sets and am currently working on one for water temperature over all of Europe! This project will allow some large scale analysis of water temperature extremes and riverine heatwaves across the continent.
