Forschungsinteressen

Als Makroökologe interessieren mich ökologische Prozesse, die sich auf grossen Skalen abspielen und nicht immer intuitiv fassbar sind. Dabei faszinieren mich fundamentale theoretische Fragen, wie die Gründe für die grossen Unterschiede in Arten- und Formvielfalt, aber auch aktuelle Themen, insbesondere Auswirkungen von Klimawandel und Extremereignissen. Ich mag die Arbeit mit grossen Datensätzen und versuche mich gerne darin, neue statistische Methoden und Modelle in meine Analysen zu integrieren. Ich arbeite hauptsächlich mit Pflanzen, insbesondere mit alpinen Arten, aber aus meinem Doktorat habe ich auch Erfahrung mit marinen Organismen, vor allem mit Phyto- und Zooplankton.
